 About Elaine

Her Qualifications
After raising her family, Elaine embarked on a course of study and gained a Bachelor of Arts in counselling. She then added to her qualifications by completing a Certificate IV in Assessment & Workplace Training. Elaine is a member of the Australian Counselling Association.

Her Experience
Elaine has had over 25 years experience in helping people as a pastoral care worker in her local church. This involved informal counselling and support for issues such as marriage and relationship difficulties, parenting, walking through grief and loss, living with mental illness, walking through life changes.

Since gaining her qualifications, Elaine was on staff at a counselling centre for 2 years before establishing her own practice. In this capacity she counselled people for a variety of issues including low self esteem, depression and anxiety, coping with losses such as career change and marriage break-up. For 3 years she has been a volunteer at the Caloundra Community Centre in their Family Support programme, visiting and supporting families who are struggling with the pressures of life.

Elaine also conducts courses and seminars on -

• Building Self-Esteem
• Taking Control of your Life
• Keys to Healthy Relationships
• Understanding the grieving process

The Person
Elaine has been married to Russell for 40 years. They are the parents of five adult children – one daughter and four sons – and have 11 grandchildren ranging in age from 14 down to 2.

Along with spending time with her family, Elaine gains a lot of pleasure in working on cross-stitch projects and is an avid crossword solver. She also enjoys taking long walks, spending time in the garden and reading biographies.

Elaine and Russell have an interest in rural and regional areas and enjoy visits to country towns.
